Grand Sport Collector Edition in Watkins Glen Gray Metallic
The Tension Blue cabin belongs to this edition alone, on 3LT. Carbon instrument panel trim and sill plates complete the package.

The Grand Sport joined the C7 family for 2017 with a formula of its own: the LT1 V8 from the Stingray, set inside the wide body with the Z06's stabilizer bars, springs and brakes. Its name reaches back to five race cars from 1963.
Fuel economy ratings are EPA's. Checked November 5, 2026.

The C7 Grand Sport is a seventh-generation Corvette sold for 2017 through 2019 as a coupe and convertible. It pairs the 460-horsepower LT1 V8 with the wide body, tires, six-piston front brakes, stabilizer bars and springs of the Z06, plus a dry-sump oil system and Grand Sport-specific wheels.
The Grand Sport took a different route from the Z06. It kept the engine of the Stingray and spent its effort on the chassis, the tires and the bodywork.
Standard equipment shows the idea. Magnetic Selective Ride Control, the electronic limited-slip differential and Performance Traction Management are all included. On a Stingray, those needed Z51 and more.
It ran for three model years, as a coupe or a convertible, in 1LT, 2LT and 3LT trims.

The Grand Sport name runs through four chapters: five race cars in 1963, a run of 1,000 cars in 1996, a model of its own for 2010, and the seventh-generation car for 2017. On the C7, the Heritage Package and its fender hash marks point back to that past.
The seventh-generation car wears that background openly. The Heritage Package adds fender hash marks outside and brushed-aluminum hash marks in the cabin, and the Collector Edition gave its marks a color of their own.
The first chapter was five cars. The C7 chapter ran across three model years, with one edition limited to 1,000 and another shared with the Z06 and limited to 650.

The C7 Grand Sport shares the Z06's 77.4-inch width, track, stabilizer bars, shock piston size, tires, steel rotor sizes and six-piston Brembo front calipers. Its engine is the difference: the Grand Sport uses the LT1 V8 and the Z06 uses the supercharged LT4. The Grand Sport is also the lighter car.

The Z16 Grand Sport Performance Package holds the pieces that make the body: fender inserts, a Z06-style grille, wider rear fenders, a splitter, rockers and a wickerbill spoiler, along with Cup-style wheels.

The C7 Grand Sport uses the 6.2-liter LT1 V8, rated at 460 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 465 lb-ft at 4,600 rpm, with a dry-sump oil system included. Buyers chose a seven-speed manual with Active Rev Match or an eight-speed paddle-shift automatic. Manual cars share gearing with the Stingray Z51.
The performance exhaust is standard here, which is why the Grand Sport is rated at 460 horsepower rather than the base Stingray's 455. Compression is 11.5:1 and the redline is 6,600 rpm.
Dry-sump oil capacity with the filter is 9.3 liters against 6.6 for a Stingray without Z51.
GM recommends premium fuel for the LT1, and EPA lists premium for the car.

On a Grand Sport, the Z07 Performance Package adds carbon ceramic brakes, Z07 suspension with Magnetic Selective Ride Control and Cup 2 tires. The car's headline figures come from this setup: 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, the quarter mile in 11.8 seconds and 1.2 g on the skid pad.

The Level 3 aero parts in the Z06's Z07 package are not part of the Grand Sport version.
For 2018, carbon ceramic brakes were also offered on their own, as J57, without requiring Z07.
GM offered one more chassis update later. A Magnetic Ride calibration reflash, offered for 2017 and 2018 Grand Sports among others, changed no hardware. In GM testing with a 2016 Z06 and a 2017 Grand Sport on the 2.9-mile Milford Road Course, it was worth one second per lap.

The C7 Grand Sport's standard aero consists of a front splitter, special rockers and a rear spoiler with wickers. Its body measures 177.9 inches long and 77.4 inches wide, against 176.9 and 73.9 for a Stingray, and it came as a coupe or a convertible.
A Visible Carbon Fiber Ground Effects Package was available.
The standard Z16 package includes fender inserts and wider rear fenders. Fender hash marks, when fitted, come from the Heritage Package or the Collector Edition.

The Grand Sport Heritage Package, order code Z15, adds fender hash marks, brushed-aluminum interior hash marks and floor mats with the Grand Sport logo. It was offered in all three Grand Sport years, from 2017 through 2019, along with a range of center stripe and hash mark colors.

Grand Sport wheels are model-specific at 19 x 10 inches front and 20 x 12 rear, offered in finishes including Pearl Nickel, Black, Chrome and Satin Black with a Red stripe. Paint followed the ten-color list for each year, and Black calipers were standard, with other colors available.

Confirm the option codes first. Check whether the car has Z07, whether it has carbon ceramic or steel brakes, and whether its hash marks came from the Heritage Package. Collector Editions and Carbon 65 Editions should show numbered plaques. Then run the VIN for open NHTSA recalls, listed on our C7 overview.
