What is the 2027 Corvette Z06?

The 2027 Corvette Z06 is the mid-engine Corvette built around the LT6, a 5.5-liter flat-plane-crank V8 that makes 670 horsepower at 8,400 rpm and 460 lb-ft of torque at 6,300 rpm. Chevrolet calls it the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever put in a production car, and sells it as a coupe or a hardtop convertible in 1LZ, 2LZ and 3LZ trims.

Chevrolet co-developed the Z06 with its championship-winning GT3.R race car. Every Z06 pairs the LT6 with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and rear-wheel drive, and the available Z07 Performance Package adds track-focused aero, brakes and tires.

The Z06 sits between the Stingray and the twin-turbo ZR1 in the 2027 lineup. It keeps a high-revving, naturally aspirated engine, while the ZR1 adds twin turbochargers for 1,064 horsepower. On chevrolet.com the Z06 starts at $121,800 against $198,000 for the ZR1.

How fast is the 2027 Corvette Z06?

Chevrolet rates the 2027 Corvette Z06 at 0 to 60 mph in as little as 2.6 seconds and the quarter mile in 10.6 seconds at 131 mph with the available Z07 Performance Package, with a top speed of 195 mph on a track. A Z06 driven by GM engineer Aaron Link lapped the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 7:11.826.

The LT6 uses a flat-plane crankshaft and revs to 8,600 rpm, which gives it a sound and response closer to a race engine than a traditional Corvette V8. Magnetic Selective Ride Control 4.0 dampers read the road and adapt in as little as 10 to 15 milliseconds, and six-piston front, four-piston rear brakes are standard.

The Z07 Performance Package is the track upgrade. It requires the Carbon Fiber Aero Package (high wing, ground effects and front dive planes) and adds carbon ceramic Brembo brakes and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 summer-only tires, with carbon fiber wheels available on top. Chevrolet's 2.6-second 0 to 60 time and 195 mph top speed are quoted with Z07.

Buyers can add RPO code PBC to assemble their own LT6 alongside a Performance Build Center master technician at the Bowling Green Assembly Plant; Chevrolet says the experience includes a custom engine plaque, an exclusive gift and a professional photo keepsake.

What does the 2027 Corvette Z06 look like?

The 2027 Corvette Z06 wears a wide-body stance, aggressive aero and a quad center exhaust, and it is sold as a coupe with a removable roof panel or a hardtop convertible whose power roof works at up to 30 mph. Buyers choose from 10 paints, 12 factory wheel designs and 6 brake caliper colors, as of November 3, 2026.

Chevrolet says every element of the Z06 body serves a purpose. The available Carbon Fiber Aero Package adds a high rear wing, ground effects and front dive planes, and 3LZ buyers can add a carbon fiber display hood. Wheels range from the standard Spider-design forged aluminum set to carbon fiber wheels, priced up to $15,500 on the Chevrolet configurator.

What is the 2027 Corvette Z06 interior like?

The 2027 Corvette Z06 cabin wraps the driver in three screens: a 12.7-inch center display, a 14-inch Driver Information Center and a 6.6-inch touchscreen auxiliary display, with suede, leather and carbon fiber trim available. Chevrolet's configurator lists 28 interior color and trim combinations and three seat designs, as of November 3, 2026.

The 1LZ comes with GT1 bucket seats in Mulan leather, a 10-speaker Bose system, a color head-up display and a wireless phone charger. The 2LZ adds heated and ventilated seats, the 14-speaker Bose Performance Series system, the Performance Data Recorder and a heated steering wheel. The 3LZ adds GT2 seats in Napa leather, a leather-wrapped instrument panel and sueded microfiber upper trim, and it is the only trim offered with Competition Sport seats.

The Performance App shows live horsepower and torque graphs, the Performance Data Recorder records video and performance data, and Chevrolet also lists selectable drive modes and Performance Traction Management among the Z06's technology features.
