2027 Corvette Grand Sport
March 26th, 2026 - Chevrolet has revived one of Corvette’s most iconic names with the introduction of the 2027 Corvette Grand Sport, alongside an all-new variant, the Grand Sport X. Together, these models combine heritage-inspired design with a next-generation 6.7L LS6 V8 engine, delivering more torque than any previous naturally aspirated Corvette V8.
Originally introduced in the early 1960s as a lightweight race car, the Grand Sport name has long represented track-focused performance and distinctive styling. The 2027 lineup continues that legacy, blending classic Corvette character with modern engineering, everyday usability, and advanced technology.
Next-Generation LS6 V8 Engine
At the heart of both models is Chevrolet’s new 6.7L LS6 V8, now the core engine across the Corvette lineup, including the Stingray. Producing 535 horsepower and 520 lb-ft of torque, the naturally aspirated engine features increased displacement, a 13.0:1 compression ratio, and improved airflow for stronger performance across the rev range. It’s paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Corvette Grand Sport: Pure Rear-Wheel Drive PerformanceThe Grand Sport stays true to its roots with rear-wheel drive and a focus on driver engagement. It features standard Magnetic Ride Control, all-season performance tires, and a refined suspension setup that balances comfort and capability.
Optional performance packages enhance its track readiness:
- Z52 Sport Package: Stiffer suspension, summer tires, and upgraded brakes
- Z52 Track Package: Carbon-ceramic brakes, track-tuned chassis, aerodynamic enhancements, and high-performance tires
Corvette Grand Sport X: Electrified All-Wheel Drive Power
The Grand Sport X introduces electrified all-wheel drive, combining the LS6 V8 with a front-mounted electric motor. This setup produces a combined 721 horsepower and delivers instant torque to the front wheels for improved acceleration and traction.
Drivers can select different performance modes, including:
- Endurance Mode for sustained track driving
- Qualifying Mode for maximum lap performance
- Push-to-Pass for on-demand power boosts
The model also offers a limited electric-only driving mode for low-speed, quiet operation.
Design and Heritage
The 2027 Grand Sport models carry forward signature styling cues, including bold striping and hash marks—now repositioned to reflect the Corvette’s mid-engine layout. New and heritage-inspired color options, such as Admiral Blue Metallic, highlight the brand’s racing history.
A special Launch Edition introduces a unique Santorini Blue interior with red accents and exclusive detailing, offering a highly personalized feel.
Production
The 2027 Corvette lineup, including Stingray and Grand Sport models, will be assembled at GM’s Bowling Green facility, with engine production based in Flint, Michigan. Production is expected to begin this summer.
