ZR1: The ultimate Corvette
Everything we've learned throughout our 100-year history, from the most grueling racetracks and demanding terrains around the world, combines with marvels of modern technology and engineering to form the 2012 Corvette ZR1.
A luxury sports car built of power, performance and prestige, ZR1 boasts a handcrafted LS9 638-horsepower supercharged V8 with titanium connecting rods and intake valves and a test track top speed of 205 mph, 0-60 mph in only 3.4 seconds and 1.05g skid pad, or over 1.1g with available ZR1 High Performance Package (PDE). Off the test track it boasts a fuel efficiency of 21 MPG highway4 with a refined and luxurious interior.
ZR1 is the fastest, most powerful car GM has ever produced, and rivals the world's best luxury sports vehicles both on and off the track, and was the overall winner of the 2010 Car and Driver Lightning Lap competition, which pitted the ZR1 against the fastest cars in the world. And because it's Corvette, it's the only truly American sports car in the competitive class.
ZR1 is powered by a 6.2 Liter LS9 aluminum block V8 equipped with a four-lobe Eaton® Twin Vortices Series™ supercharger with intercooler. It delivers an SAE-certified 638 hp at 6500 rpm and 604 lb.- ft. of torque at 3800 rpm. The engine employs lightweight titanium intake valves and connecting rods and contains a high-performance dry-sump oil system, which distributes pressurized oil from an external reservoir to protect vital components under high-g driving conditions.

Corvette Engine Build Experience. Z06 and ZR1 owners have the option of taking part in the Corvette Engine Build Experience. Each LS7 and LS9 engine is hand built by a skilled craftsman from beginning to completion6. Participants in the program travel to GM's Performance Build Center in Wixom, Michigan and assemble their Corvette engine under the supervision of a skilled craftsman. Corvette Museum Delivery. A Corvette isn't just a sports car; it's a milestone-one that comes with a rich history and an exciting future. Corvette owners can become a part of that history by taking delivery of their vehicle right on the floor of the National Corvette Museum (NCM) in Bowling Green, Kentucky. NCM welcomes Corvette enthusiasts from all over the world and offers a variety of options for owners. Corvette museum delivery includes an NCM Delivery Team tour of the nearby Corvette Assembly Plant and a VIP museum tour, as well as a quality orientation followed by a thorough delivery presentation of your new Corvette. Included in the price of your ZR1 is the opportunity to study at one of the two official Corvette Driving schools, which will you get the most enjoyment out of your ZR1. Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in suburban Phoenix or the Ron Fellows Performance Corvette Driving School at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch near Las Vegas.
ZR1 engineers were passionate about maintaining a favorable power-to-weight ratio. So they specified high-strength, lightweight materials wherever possible including magnesium and carbon fiber. One example is the aluminum frame structure (the same one used on the C6.R race car), which weighs 138 lbs. less than an equivalent steel structure. Result: a power-to-weight ratio of 5.2 pounds per horsepower.
Performance Traction Management is standard on ZR1. It manages acceleration out of turns via integration of the Magnetic Selective Ride Control, Traction Control and Active Handling systems.
Launch Control is also standard with the short-throw manual gearbox. It modulates engine rpm to lay the power down more smoothly while providing consistent acceleration times on the test track.

The ZR1 offers massive stopping power, thanks to its Brembo carbon-ceramic brake rotors that weigh almost 50 percent less than equivalent cast-iron units. Besides reducing overall mass, they are capable of operating at 1,000 degrees Celsius (as hot as molten lava) without warping. The system employs six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers engaging vented, cross-drilled rotors.
The available Head-Up Display projects information in two modes right onto your windshield. Track mode offers speed, rpm and even g-forces. Street mode offers directions from the available navigation system and more.

Corvette offers available CD/MP3 Bose seven-speaker sound systems - with and without navigation. Both feature auto tone control, Radio Data System (RDS)(9), automatic volume and TheftLock. Both include a one-year XM Radio(8) trial.
