ZR1: The ultimate Corvette

Here's what's possible when you apply everything you've learned in racing and engineering to a single automobile - the Corvette ZR1 (very limited availability). With its 638-hp supercharged LS9 engine and a test-track top speed of 205 mph, it is the fastest GM production car of all time.

The ZR1 was the overall winner of the 2010 Car and Driver Lightning Lap competition, which pitted the ZR1 against the fastest cars in the world.

2011 Chevy Corvette ZR1 supercharged LS9 engine
ZR1 is powered by a 6.2 Liter LS9 aluminum block V8 equipped with a four-lobe Eaton® Twin Vortices Series™ supercharger with intercooler. It delivers an SAE-certified 638 hp at 6500 rpm and 604 lb.- ft. of torque at 3800 rpm. The engine employs lightweight titanium intake valves and connecting rods and contains a high-performance dry-sump oil system, which distributes pressurized oil from an external reservoir to protect vital components under high-g driving conditions.

Build your own ZR1 LS9 engine with the Corvette Engine Build Experience Corvette Engine Build Experience. You also have the opportunity to build your own LS7 engine at the GM Performance Build Center in Wixom, Michigan. The experience will pair you up with an engine-building professional, and you will get the opportunity to do all the hands-on work. Corvette Museum Delivery. Want the ultimate way to take possession of your new Corvette? Now you can take delivery of your new Corvette right on the floor of the National Corvette Museum (NCM) in Bowling Green, Kentucky. The experience includes a NCM Delivery Team tour of the nearby Corvette Assembly Plant and a VIP tour of NCM. Museum delivery is available to order through any Chevy dealer for an additional cost.

The ZR1 will take you to school
ZR1 ownership provides an opportunity for a two-day driving school experience courtesy of the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving in suburban Phoenix or the Ron Fellows Performance Corvette Driving School at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch near Las Vegas. It goes on the scale before it goes on the car
ZR1 engineers were religious about maintaining a favorable power-to-weight ratio. So they specified high-strength, lightweight materials wherever possible. One example is the aluminum frame structure (the same one used on the C6.R race car), which weighs 138 lbs. less than an equivalent steel structure. Result: an extremely favorable power-to-weight ratio of 5.2 pounds per horsepower. ZR1 engineers were religious about maintaining a favorable power-to-weight ratio


Putting 638 hp to the pavement
Performance Traction Management is standard on ZR1. It manages acceleration out of turns via integration of the Magnetic Selective Ride Control, Traction Control and Active Handling systems.

Launch Control is also standard with the short-throw manual gearbox. It modulates engine rpm to lay the power down more smoothly while providing consistent acceleration times on the test track.

Brembo® carbon-ceramic stopping power
The ZR1 offers massive stopping power, thanks to its Brembo carbon-ceramic brake rotors that weigh almost 50 percent less than equivalent cast-iron units. Besides reducing overall mass, they are capable of operating at 1,000 degrees Celsius (as hot as molten lava) without warping. The system employs six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers engaging vented, cross-drilled rotors.

The available Head-Up Display projects information in two modes right onto your windshield. Track mode offers speed, rpm and even g-forces. Street mode offers directions from the available navigation system and more.
  XM Radio(8) with three trial months is standard. Enjoy commercial-free music, sports, news and talk, comedy, family programming and more from coast-to-coast.  
Corvette offers available CD/MP3 Bose seven-speaker sound systems - with and without navigation. Both feature auto tone control, Radio Data System (RDS)(9), automatic volume and TheftLock. Both include a one-year XM Radio(8) trial.
