Light As Air, Loud As Thunder

Some cars are built for looks. Others just for speed. But some cars are built to race.

There's a big difference, and no other Chevy embodies the spirit of that differece like the Z06. It's not just good looking, and it's not just fast - it was born for the racetrack. Zero-to-sixty in 3.7 seconds. Lighter-than-air carbon fiber components. 505 horsepower 7.0L hand-crafted V8 with a 6-speed manual transmission. But those are just numbers. What the numbers don't tell you is just how good it feels to be in control of a sports car like this.

And there’s even more to the equation: Corvette’s available Z07 Performance Package adds Brembo Carbon Ceramic Brakes for improved stopping power, weight and corrosion resistance, plus Michelin Pilot Cup Tires, which provide 8% more grip than standard tires. The result is pure power under assured control.

As Corvette marks sixty years of continuous production for 2013, Chevrolet is celebrating by offering the 60th Anniversary Appearance Package on all Corvette models - including the Z06! This package includes an Arctic White exterior and a Blue Diamond leather-wrapped interior, an optional graphics package with full-length racing stripes in Pearl Silver Blue, gray-painted brake calipers, a ZR1 rear spoiler and 60th Anniversary badging on the steering wheel, seat head restraints and wheel center caps.

Exterior Features

2013 Corvette Z06 with painted yellow brake calipers
A low stance, rounded fenders and classically aggressive lines have been hallmarks of Corvette design since the beginning, and they’re in full effect on the 2013 Z06, making it tantalizingly unmistakable. And this year, Corvette raises the bar with the 60th Anniversary Design Package, which boasts an Arctic White exterior and a Blue Diamond leather-wrapped interior with sueded-microfiber accents.

Complementing its aluminum frame, available carbon-fiber elements and options make the 2013 Z06 the lightest of all Corvettes. Carbon-fiber fenders and floors are standard in every Z06, yet you can eliminate even more weight (and obtain a sleek, race-ready form) with the available carbon-fiber roof, splitter, rockers and hood. Collectively, these elements make for an even more outstanding power-to-weight ratio and agile performance and handling.

The outward appearance of the Z06 can be further customized with a choice of brake caliper colors; available in Dark Gray Metallic, Silver, Yellow or standard Red. Even headlamp colors are customizable in gray, silver or black. These touches, and the long list of available dealer-installed Genuine Corvette Accessories, can make your Z06 truly unique…just like you.

Interior Features

The 2013 Z06 interior has been upgraded to provide even more luxurious features that you've come to expect from Corvette. High-performance driving is the name of the game here, and the comfortable leather seats with available microfiber inserts keep you in control while zipping around the turns.

Or go even further with customizable color stitching, available on the 3ZR trim level. This gives the inside of your Z06 a sharp contrast and a personal touch. With the "Z06" steering wheel badge staring you in the face, you'll have everything at your fingertips - literally - with the available steering wheel radio and Bluetooth controls. Available heated seats means that leather you're sitting on will heat up along with the pavement that's being scorched beneath your wheels.

Z06 Performance

Did you know?
The Z06 didn't start out as its own model. It was originally an available package first offered on 1963 Corvettes labeled the RPO Z06 package. Before being available for order, the Z06 was already installed on track Vettes, and would become the inspiration for the Grand Sport.

2013 Corvette Z06 60th Anniversary Edition tachometer
A luxury sports car able to reach a test-track top speed of 198 mph needs remarkable brakes as well. The 2013 Corvette Z06 boasts monoblock 6-piston front calipers and 4-piston rear calipers, and the extra-large 14-inch front rotors and 13.4-inch rear rotors are vented and cross drilled. Launch Control is also standard with the short-throw 6-speed manual gearbox. It modulates engine rpm for smooth power transfer while providing consistent acceleration times on the test track. Brembo Carbon Ceramic Brakes help with performance, weight and corrosion resistance, and Michelin Pilot Cup Tires, offering 8% more grip than the standard tires, are also available as part of the Z07 Performance Package.

2013 LS7 engine block
Powering the Z06 is a 7.0-Liter (427 ci) LS7 aluminum-block V8 with an 11.0:1 compression ratio. Each and every LS7 is handcrafted at the GM Performance Build Center in Wixom, Michigan. It delivers an SAE-certified 505 HP at 6300 rpm and 470 lb.-ft. of torque at 4800 rpm. The engine features lightweight titanium intake valves and connecting rods, and contains a high-performance dry-sump oil system, which distributes pressurized oil to protect vital components under high-g driving conditions. Thanks to its race-derived components, the Z06 has a curb weight of 3,199 pounds…making it the lightest of the 2013 Corvettes.

With wide-ranging performance options available, you can construct a Z06 to perfectly complement your driving style. The F55 Package includes Magnetic Selective Ride Control including Performance Traction Management, Michelin PS2 tires and black cup-style wheels. From there, you can upgrade to the available Z07 Performance Package including all of the F55 Package elements along with Brembo Carbon Ceramic Brakes and Michelin PS Cup tires. Go for the available carbon-fiber hood and Carbon Fiber Package option — which includes roof, splitter and rockers — to make your Z06 even lighter and more performance ready.

Available Magnetic Selective Ride Control with two settings, Tour and Sport, stiffens suspension capability of the Z06 for more demanding driving conditions while providing a more accommodating ride for city driving and freeways. MSRC works by applying an electrical current – variably controlled by a microprocessor – to shock fluid infused with ferrous particles which instantly bond, making the fluid more flow resistant, effectively stiffening the shock's damping. Conversely, when the electromagnetic field is reduced, the fluid flows more freely, allowing easier suspension movement.

Z06 Technology

The 2013 Z06 includes all the high-tech features you know and love from their inclusion in the other models. A masterpiece of engineering, the performance aspect of the Z06 is only part of the story. Navigation, heated seats, OnStar, XM Radio, Bluetooth... the list goes on and on.
Navigation System
With all that intense action on the road, you'll definately wanna make sure those in-car phone calls are hands-free. Available Bluetooth wireless calling means you can stay focussed on pushing your Z06 to the max while answering phone calls with a tap of the steering wheel.
Available with some Bose sound systems is touch-screen navigation - the ultimate touch of luxury that you've come to expect from the sports car leader. With power under the hood and navigation within your reach, you'll never look at muscle cars the same way again.   The most advanced in-vehicle assistance technology ever conceived is inside every Corvette Coupe. Best of all, you get a free six-month subscription of the Directions & Connections Plan.

Z06 Safety Features

When it comes to safety, nothing beats prevention. That’s why the 2013 Z06 incorporates features such as Active Handling and four-wheel antilock brakes. But there’s far more to the safety story for Corvette. The standard xenon high-intensity discharge (HID) headlamps project 900 lumens of light onto the road ahead for superior visibility, and Corvette’s run-flat tires can operate safely for some distance at moderate speed, allowing you to continue on your way until the tire can be repaired.

Front and side-impact air bags help protect occupants in case of a collision, and OnStar with Directions & Connections and Automatic Crash Response will contact OnStar even if you can’t, sending emergency services to your exact GPS location. These OnStar services are standard on Corvette for the first six months.

The Head-Up Display projects onto the front windshield, keeping the driver informed of speed, direction, turn-by-turn navigation directions and even g-force…while both eyes stay on the road.
